Quick update: I am making pottery again!!
Please check out my Etsy store for ceramic pottery & eco printing!
Eco-printing is created by layering prepared natural fiber fabric with local plants and flowers. The material and leaves are bundled together, tightly bound and steamed. This process creates a permanent transfer of pigment from the leaves to the cloth. All color and pattern come from the plants themselves!
Here at Bare Mountain Studio we have tested and tried hundreds of combinations of EcoPrint dyeing using natural leaves, berries, flowers and bark to create modern and naturally dyed clothing you love— And it's good for the earth!
We hand-select fabrics by quality and touch. Your skin will love the way our t-shirts and dresses feel on your skin. You will feel pampered and good about the sustainable harvested materials that are touching you.
Our ethically dyed products are making the least impact on mother earth— Unlike most dyed clothing out there today.
Here are samplings of some of the Eco Print dyes you will find from Bare Mountain Studio. Each creation has come from our tried and tested processes of extraction of natural dyes from plants.
Indigo— Is one of the oldest-known dyes known to humans. It dates back 6000 years in Peru and is used by Bare Mountain Studios today. This luxurious dye creates a brilliant royal blue that we love on many of our EcoPrint pieces.
Logwood— Creates natural colors ranging from purples to greys and blacks. This exotic plant comes from Central America.
Cochineal— Is also known as Carmine is used in modern cosmetics and foods to create a brilliant crimson color. We use it to develop deep scarlet colors, fuchsias, and purples on our eco print clothing. This tiny insect is dried and produces a fantastic dye for our clothing.
Black Walnut— Is one of the types of natural dyes we use in our eco print clothing. It is locally sourced in West Virginia. This nut husk has a high amount of tannins that magnetize the dark juicy dark brown dyes to our oh-so-soft fabrics.
Oakgull— Was used in Medival times to dye fabrics. When appropriately processed by our secret methods it makes a black that is as dark as the night sky to shades of brown.
We also use Chestnut Bark, Dandelion, Henna and many other gifts from nature in our EcoPrint clothing created for you.
Each EcoPrint piece is hand-crafted and dyed by one of our many processes to create art from nature that you can wear and feel good about it!
No harsh chemicals are found in your clothing from Bare Mountain Studio.
We focus on using natural dyes in each of our EcoPrint pieces. Each wearable art design is inspired by nature combined with quality fabrics your skin will love.
